Mary D. Ross Founders Scholarship
Tips for the Rec LetterThank you for writing a letter of recommendation!
The Ross Scholarship is meant to honor the intentions of a graduating senior who plans to pursue a career in Speech Education. We do ask all candidates to submit at least one letter of recommendation. The letter need not be long: The purpose of the recommendation letter is simply to hear from someone close to the student about their passion for Speech, Debate, Oral Interpretation, Mock Trial, Forensics, etc. Perhaps its the way the skill set has served them, or the way they have taken on a "peer-teaching role" on their team, or their excitement as they discuss their future career plans with coaches, teachers, counselors, parents, etc. The letter is meant to help the selection committee have a clearer picture of the candidate. Whatever you feel is best is, honestly, perfect. If you have questions, feel free to contact the Eastern Missouri NSDA District Chair: Justin Seiwell ([email protected]) |
