2021 Communicator of the Year - Dr. Alex Garza
Serving as the Incident Commander for the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, Dr. Alex Garza's steady leadership, consistent communication, medical expertise, and masterful communication skills has helped the people of St. Louis navigate this incredibly difficult time. Dr. Garza has dedicated an inconceivable amount of time to education the public about the current realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, what the St. Louis region is facing, how we can decrease infections, what the vaccine rollout process looks like, and what is and is not safe. He has provided the voice and leadership that so many of us have needed over the past year.
Through countless press conferences, interviews, and town halls, Dr. Garza demonstrates a deep appreciation for the gravity of this pandemic and stepped into public service to save lives.
Dr. Garza's communication is authoritative, objective, and honest while at the same time provides comfort and empathy for the range of emotions each and ever one of us feels during these unprecedented times.
