2022 "Alternative Methods" to Nationals

In 2022, NSDA is offering three "alternative" ways for a student to attend Nationals.   Please read this page carefully!
The three alternative methods are:
  1. Attending the NSDA National Tournament in person as a Supplemental Events competitor.
  2. Attending the NSDA National Tournament online as a Supplemental Events competitor.
  3. Attempting to qualify to in-person Nationals through the NSDA's online "Last Chance" tournament.
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO LEARN MORE ABOUT EACH AND TO TELL EASTMO WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO!

NON-QUALIFYING IN-PERSON SUPPLEMENTAL EVENTS

SUMMARY:  A school is permitted to enter two non-qualifying students into Supplemental Events at the in-person NSDA National Tournament.  This means they would be "on site" June 11-18, 2022 and compete starting on June 15th.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:  Students are eligible if they 1) competed at Districts in any event, and 2) did NOT qualify to Nationals in any event.

If a school is planning to do this, it is VERY important for EastMO to know so that we can make lodging arrangements!

HOW TO ENTER:

You will enter these students via www.tabroom.com.  You'll have to wait until registration is open for the entire district, so fill out the form on the right so Justin knows to alert you when it's ready!

WHAT TO DO FOR EASTMO:

PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM!
This will help EastMO plan lodging for your students AND make sure we keep YOU in the loop about Nats!

NON-QUALIFYING ONLINE SUPPLEMENTAL EVENTS

SUMMARY:  A school is permitted to enter two non-qualifying students into the ONLINE Supplemental Events tournament.  This online tournament is held June 2nd - 4th, 2022, so it's before the in-person National Tournament.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:  Students are eligible if they 1) competed at Districts in any event, and 2) did NOT qualify to Nationals in any event, and 3) are NOT competing at the NSDA National Tournament (in person) in any way.

This is a little "less" vital for EastMO to know about, but it would be helpful so we can cheer on your students!

HOW TO ENTER:

These students are entered through a different Tabroom.com tournament - it is NOT the same as the National Tournament.

WHAT TO DO FOR EASTMO:

PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM!
This will help us know that your students are participating and we can cheer them on!  They'll also be included in our post-Nationals media packet.  :)

NSDA'S "LAST CHANCE" ONLINE TOURNAMENT

SUMMARY:  The NSDA is offering an online "Last Chance" tournament for students.  The tournament will be held May 5 - 7, 2022.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:  Students are eligible if they 1) attend a school that competed at the District Tournament*, and 2) did NOT qualify to NSDA Nationals in any other event, and 3) met the original NSDA District Tournament eligibility requirements (25+ points, honor code signature, etc.).  *It is NOT necessary for the STUDENT to competed at Districts, but the SCHOOL must have had at least one entry in the District Tournament series.

If a school is planning to enter this tournament, it is VERY important for EastMO to know so that we can anticipate lodging!  This will be the most difficult part of our lodging puzzle and it will happen VERY close to our deadline for rooming lists!
